Extension and Renovation Project

Al Risaalah Mosque, a vital hub for a large Muslim community in North London, faces capacity issues due to high demand, especially during peak times. To address this, the mosque plans to expand its existing building. The project involves:

Extension: Adding space at the back and on upper floors for new prayer rooms and amenities.
Renovation: Refurbishing existing areas and improving internal layout for better functionality.

This expansion aims to ensure all community members can comfortably participate in religious activities within the mosque.

Our History

Risaalah Mosque and Islington Islamic Centre Reflecting Growth and Purpose

Al Risaalah Mosque and Islington Islamic Centre was previously called Somali Cultural Watch, The name was changed to reflect the main objectives and work of the charity. It was also a time to redevelop the charity as it has grown from the humble beginning when it was a small unicorporated registered charity to a charitable incorporated organisation. The new Charity number is 1180914

Al Risaalah Mosque and Islington Islamic Centre was established in April 2009. It is an independent, voluntary and non-profit organisation. Islington Islamic Centre is its trading name.

ARMIIC aims to provide quality religious, educational and recreational facilities for Muslims living in the London boroughs of Islington, Camden and surrounding areas.

A Message From Masjid Al Risaalah

Established in 2008 as the Somali Cultural Watch, we began with a mission to preserve the culture and Islamic identity of Somalis in the UK. Over time, our vision expanded to serve all Muslims, leading to the creation of Al Risaalah Mosque and Islington Islamic Centre. By the grace of Allah, we acquired our current home at 91-93 Parkhurst Road, London, N7 0LP, a debt-free, freehold property that serves as the heart of our community.

Our Centre is dedicated to fostering religious, cultural, and social growth for Muslims and non-Muslims alike. We aim to promote the true understanding of Islam as a religion of peace, tolerance, and coexistence. Over the years, we have been blessed to welcome many new Muslims into our community.
