Our Story

From a small prayer room to a growing charity

Al-Risaalah Mosque & Islington Islamic Centre began over fifteen years ago as a modest prayer space serving a handful of local families. Word spread, and so did the need.

Today we are a registered UK charity (No. 1180914), welcoming more than 500 worshippers from over thirty nationalities every week — English, Somali, Bengali and Arabic speakers praying side by side.

We are now converting 91–93 Parkhurst Road, Islington into a permanent, purpose-built mosque: a project funded entirely by the generosity of our community.

Our Mission

A place of worship, knowledge and mercy

A mosque should be a second home — not a building you visit only on Fridays. Our mission is to provide worship, learning and support for every Muslim in our community, whatever their background.

Worship

A welcoming, well-kept space for the five daily prayers and Jumu'ah, with a dedicated women's prayer area, open to all.

Knowledge

Structured Islamic education for children and adults through our growing Madrasa and Institute programmes.

Community

Family support, mediation and welfare rooted in compassion, confidentiality and genuine care.
